What makes a Florida dream home? It is not just price – there can be extremely expensive homes that are someone else’s dream but not yours.

Your Florida dream home might be a huge modern estate on the beach – or it might be a cosy little country retreat; it might be a brand new home or something older – perhaps a Florida beach house that you can fix up. Your prime need might be a property near a good school. It might be your family home or your second home or an investment property for Florida vacation rentals. Everyone’s needs and desires are different.

What we Realtors need to remember is that one person’s Florida dream house may be another’s monstrosity. We will listen to what you want and try to really understand your needs – we don’t want to show you huge numbers of properties that are not what you are looking for – but it is our job to sometimes try to suggest something you haven’t thought about. It is easy to have a fixed idea of what you want – only to find that there’s something better that you had not even considered.

Remember that we can show you anything that is for sale and listed on the Multiple Listing Service – we are not restricted to our own listings. If there is a Florida property that you are particularly interested in that isn’t on the market, we can even try to contact the owners to see if they might consider selling.

After all the rain that’s hit New Smyrna Beach recently, we’re looking forward to a perfect Florida summer. The time is right for Florida vacations on the beach. Whilst we have booked much of the summer to vacation renters, we do still have some summer vacancies in the New Smyrna Beach/Bethune Beach, FL area. A surprising number of our renters come from only an hour’s drive inland – to enjoy the sea breezes which make the beach the best place to be in the heat of the summer. Other renters come from all parts of the country, and some from Europe too. People who have left it late to book a Florida vacation rental for the summer are going to find fewer discounts than in the spring, as there is less accommodation left.

However, if you are still looking for a Florida vacation on the beach, we’ve just taken on a beautiful 2 bedroomed ocean front condo on the second floor at Ebb Tide – so we have summer availability here – look at the pictures on our main site. This condo has not been furnished as a vacation rental, it’s been furnished as a home – once you visit it, you won’t want to leave! (In fact, if you want to buy it, it is on the market!)

If you are a snowbird, looking for any time between November and April next year, you will want to book your Florida vacation rental soon. Our regulars have already re-booked for 2010, so vacancies are filling up fast.

Many winter renters want to bring pets – but most condos do not permit pets for renters. If you own a property in the New Smyrna Beach, FL area that you wish to rent out seasonally and you do allow pets – please let us know.
