Local Attractions and Info
On the Doorstep
Our biggest local attraction is our wonderful beach where you can swim, surf, build sandcastles, collect shells, walk for miles – or just laze in the sun. If you’re feeling more active, you can play shuffleboard or tennis on site, swim in the pool, or walk across the street to JB’s Fishcamp and hire kayaks or paddleboards.
A few steps further and you have the Mary McLeod Bethune Beach Park with basketball court, tennis court, volleyball, picnic areas, playground and fishing dock. Here you will often see dolphins and pelicans feeding, and in the warmer months, manatees.
New Symrna Beach Tourist Information
New Smyrna Beach has many opportunities for artistic experiences – with art festivals, galleries, concerts and festivals. Keep an eye on the New Smyrna Beach Events Calendar for up to date listings of what’s on in the area.
If there’s a rocket launch from Cape Canaveral during your stay, you’ll have a good view from the beach.
If you want to venture further, of course you have all the Orlando Theme Parks only about 1.5 hours drive away. Slightly closer, there are plenty of other sites and locations of interest to explore, including the Daytona International Speedway, the Blue Spring State Park, the Daytona Lagoon Waterpark, DeBary Hall Historic Site and the Kennedy Space Centre.
A full list of things to see and do in the area can be found on the New Symrna Beach Visitor Website.
